Curators-in-Residency

PAC Art Residency extends a formal invitation to all institutional and independent curators to apply for its new residency program in 2024.

The curator-in-residence program will host two curators during the periods between March – May and September – November each, providing a studio space, a $1000 USD stipend per month, and access to a network of internationally respected art professionals. Curators not based in the Houston Metropolitan Area will need to provide their own accommodation.

The program is open to all curators who can spend up to three, and no less than two, months in Houston. Curators with a solid background and more than five years of experience, both within and outside institutions, are more eligible. Particular attention will be given to curators with research or exhibition projects in the area.

Residencies are independent, immersive, and process-based. We encourage professional experimentation and personal collaborations among our residents, with a public program that includes presentations as well as open studio sessions at the end of each residency program.

PAC has recently partnered with the Museum of Fine Arts to give residents access to its library resources.

Curators are expected to:

– Assist artists-in-residence in the development of their studio projects.

– Present their work to other residents and guests upon arrival at PAC art residency.

– Make connections and build collaborations with other curators, institutions, artists, and collectors with support from the PAC team.
